Santee Chamber of Commerce Announces 2024 Person of the Year

Santee, California – The Santee Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the recipient of its prestigious Person of the Year award. This esteemed honor is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and service to the Santee community. After thoughtful consideration, the Chamber proudly recognizes John Olsen as the 2024 Person of the Year.

John has been an integral part of our community, consistently going above and beyond to enhance the quality of life in Santee. His contributions have touched countless lives, and his efforts continue to leave a lasting impact.

To celebrate this well-deserved honor, the Santee Chamber of Commerce invites the community to the annual Santee Heroes Celebration, taking place on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Off Broadway Live. “We are proud to name John Olsen as our 2024 Person of the Year,” said Kristen Dare, Interim CEO of the Santee Chamber of Commerce. “John’s unwavering commitment to our city and his long history of service embody exactly what this award represents. He is a true community champion.”

This year marks a change in venue for the Santee Heroes Celebration. For the first time, the event will be hosted at Off Broadway Live, a locally loved performance space that offers a more personal and unique setting. With cozy four-top tables and a maximum guest count of just under 100, the celebration promises an intimate atmosphere where honorees and guests can truly connect and reflect on the incredible community spirit that defines Santee. “This year’s Santee Heroes Celebration will be something special,” said Stephanie Wooding, Event Chair and Director of the Santee Chamber of Commerce. “Not only are we honoring John Olsen, but we’re also highlighting individuals and organizations who give so much of themselves to make Santee thrive. I encourage everyone to come out, connect with neighbors, and celebrate the heart of our community.”

In addition to John Olsen, the event will recognize other local heroes from the Santee School District, Santee Fire Department, Santee Sheriff’s Department, Santee-Lakeside Rotary Club, Santee Kiwanis Club, and more. It’s a meaningful opportunity for residents to celebrate the people and organizations who help shape and strengthen our city.
