Santee Chamber Weekly Update 10AUG23

Hello Santee!

Last week our community was able to Join the San Diego County Sheriff's Departmentfor National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual event that promotes law enforcement-community partnership and neighborhood camaraderie. You had the opportunity to meet your local Sheriff's Deputies and receive public safety resources. Crime Prevention Specialists shared tips on how to keep your families safe. You also got to meet members of their Sheriff's specialized and volunteer units such as Sheriff's Bomb/Arson, K-9 Unit and the Search and Rescue (SAR) Unit.

Events like these are also an opportunity for Directors of the Santee Chamber Board to attend and support our community. One of our Directors, Mike Aiken, joined community members onsite for the evening. After his career in the Navy, Mike joined the San Diego Police Department serving the public and retired after 28 years. Most of his time was spent as a Detective assigned to the Narcotic Task Force with the DEA, where he also had the privilege of working with and training narcotic detection K9s. Mike may have retired from his law enforcement career, but he is a Director at the Carlton Oaks Country Club and is involved in the upgrade of the golf course. This may be the reason why our Veterans Appreciation Golf Tournament is so successful since we have such a community driven Event Chair like Mike. Make sure to secure your foursome now and join us on the green on Thursday, November 9th!
