Santee Chamber Weekly Update 12OCT23

Hello Santee!

Last week Senator Brian Jones hosted a grand opening and legislative open house of his new Scripps Ranch office. As some of us still get used to new district lines and the fact that we are now represented as District 40, it was a good reminder to see how vast the area is that he serves (which includes the Cities of Escondido, Poway, San Marcos, Santee, San Diego City communities of Carmel Mountain Ranch, Mira Mesa, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Peñasquitos, Scripps Ranch, Sorrento Valley, and University City, along with the San Diego County unincorporated communities of 4S Ranch, Alpine, Bonsall, Fallbrook, Lakeside, Pine Valley, Rainbow, Ramona, and Valley Center.)

The event had over 1,300 attendees, including several elected officials, chamber representatives and 40 exhibits from community groups and non-profits throughout the district. During the event, Jones recognized the Senate District 40 Non-Profit of the Year, EDUCATE! University City Foundation for Public Schools, as well as the Senate District 40 Woman of the Year, Bari Landry Vaz. “We are thrilled that the grand opening of my Scripps Ranch office was an enormous success with over 1,300 attendees joining us to learn more about my office and the good work of community groups around the district,” said Leader Jones. “This incredible turnout reflects the strong sense of community and shared purpose that defines our district. I am deeply grateful for the support of our constituents and look forward to continuing our work together.”

Thanks to Senator Jones for the lovely evening, his amazing staff for such great coordination, and my Government Affairs Chair, Barbara Ryan for joining me.
